From the PTA

The GHS PTA would like to inform you that we have fundraised over $11,000 from our Rogaine event that was held in April. This is an amazing effort from the PTA team and they should be very proud. The money raised is going towards seating and shading for the GHS students around the school. This will be an added bonus next summer as it will protect our students at break times and can be used as an outdoor learning spot for classes too.

At the end of May we had our Annual General Meeting for the PTA. At this meeting we farewelled Linda Blakiston who has given many years to the PTA team and has been the lead on our last two Rogaine events. A big thank you from the staff, students and PTA. We had Patrice Sandri standing down from President this year, another amazing lady that has given a tremendous amount of time to our school. With no nominations for President, Patrice is Acting President until we find a new leader. Andrea Hornsby continues as Secretary and Natasha Rankin as Treasurer. We are still looking for new members.  It is not just about fundraising.  We support the staff, students and parents in many ways and it is a great way to find out what goes on in our school. PLEASE consider making a commitment to your children's school by joining us on the last Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm in the School Library. PLEASE don’t think that you will be pushed into a position as soon as you come - we know that it can be a huge step just coming along. For the PTA to continue we need more hands that can help with supporting the school. As members' children reach the end of their schooling at GHS, we need new members coming along and learning the ropes so there is always a happy and caring PTA team.

Please contact Patrice or Andrea if you have any questions about the GHS PTA. We both feel proud of what we have achieved since joining the PTA and what many parents before us have done.  Contact Andrea Hornsby, GHS PTA Secretary on 693 9319 or email [email protected]
