Last week some  teams from Years 7-10 competed in the Xtra! Central South Island Spelling Bee held at Timaru Boys High.
All the teams competed strongly especially the Year 7 team made up of Saskia Finlayson-Hood, Leah Boase and Brodie England placing 4th overall and the Year 10 team made up of Ella Leith and Amelia Woodley who were placed 3rd =. The other competitors at Years 7 and 8  were Graeme Campbell, Courtney Howell and Marcus Furrer who made up the Year 8 team and Zara Coleman, Brianna Howell and Ruby Lake  made up the other Year 7 team.
They answered questions testing their spelling ability, definitions and vocabulary skills.
We even had spectator teams of Jan and Felix Finlayson-Hood win the audience participation spelling test on the Wednesday night and Mrs Dodd winning on the Thursday.
Congratulations to everyone for successful nights.
