Kia ora koutou,
With the end of the term now upon us, it is a good time for students to take time to reflect on their performance, evaluate what they must do next to gain set goals and to plan a good strategy to ensure they reach the success that they desire.
As parents, I encourage you to ask your son/daughter how the term has gone, what they need to do next and what can be done to help them meet their goals. This is for all year levels – not just for those sitting NCEA assessments.
Exams for NCEA are drawing near. Parent Portal gives you the opportunity to see NCEA results and talk to your son/daughter about how to prepare for the final internal assessments and how to study effectively for the exams.
Some resources that have recently been made available through ERO:
This report reinforces that strong connections between schools and parents and whanau are essential for student achievement.
Also the booklet ‘Partners in Learning’ has recently been released. This booklet contains links to parent information on ERO, NZQA, MoE and Careers New Zealand websites, and sets out what parents can expect from a school and how the parent can help their child do well at school.
If you would like a hard copy of this booklet, feel free to contact me via my email on our school website.
