A message from our PTA

By Mrs Andrea Hornsby | Posted: Thursday February 9, 2017

Welcome back to GHS students and families and a warm welcome to our new students and families joining us this year.

We were able to meet some of you on Thursday 2nd February on your first day. We had a great response from our parents that showed an interest in joining the GHS PTA this year, please contact Andrea Hornsby [email protected] with your details so we can inform you of our meetings. It will be great to have some new fresh ideas coming in. Anyone interested in helping in any way please contact me.

Our major fundraiser of the year is the GRAM, Geraldine Rogaine Autumn Muster which is being held on Sunday 2nd April. This is one way families will be able to get into the spirit of our school. Consider entering as a family or encourage your children to enter. There is an event for all ages and abilities, check out our new website www.gram.org.nz for all the information. We have competitors coming from all parts of the South Island just for our event, it has become a favourite with competitors. Keep an eye out for a donation email coming out soon as another way to help your school. There will be a number of ways you can help us. From a cash donation to help with the cost of catering, donation of a slice for catering, a donation of a spot prize, clean out the cupboards of unwanted gifts or the donation of your time on the day to help with the running of the event would be so much appreciated. This years money is going towards a climbing wall to be in the gym when this gets updated over the coming year or so. This will be a huge asset to the school, please get in behind us with our fund-raising.

The PTA also is helping with catering on Thursday 2nd of March for the Meet the Teacher afternoon starting at 3.15pm for Years 7/8 students and parents. We hope you can make it to this afternoon as it is great to meet your child’s teacher and the parents of new found friends.

We wish you all a great Term 1 and hope all students make the most of all the activities that are offered at GHS.
