New Tutors and Courses at the Academy!
Kia Ora Students and Parents,
Happy 2017! We ended last year with the fantastic School's Out Youth Concert, which featured several GHS students, and are proud to be offering an exciting and diverse array of courses and workshops throughout Term One.
We are particularly excited to announce that we have a new, highly qualified, DRAMA teacher on board, Gill Towle, who until December 2016 held the position of HoD of Drama at Craighead Diocesan School. Gill will be giving classes to children and teenagers on Fridays, starting February 17th (ring Gill on 022 191 7788 to enroll your child).
Also new are DANCE for adults, led by Amanda Rumenapf of Tiptoe Dance, and ART Classes with artist and former secondary school arts teacher David Waddington (please express your interest now).
We still have all the old favorites like Yoga, Highland and Jazz dance for kids, Morris Dancing, Piano, Guitar, Mainly Music, Choir (one for adults and one for kids), and more!
Coming up in May is a Jazz Ensemble Workshop with and a lunchtime concert by members of "the Jac", a Jazz Octet of Chamber Music NZ. Not to forget of course are our monthly Blackboard Concerts (open mic night) , our youth concerts and touring bands. See you all at the Academy! www.facebook.com/geraldineacademyofperformanceandarts
