Year 11 student Karma Gyeltshen attended the National Age Group Tournament for Football during the holidays, held in Wellington from 14th - 18th December. He was selected through trials with boys from Timaru to Otago, Southland and Queenstown. There was only one other boy selected for his age group from the Timaru area. Karma represented 'Football South' Federation. There are seven Federations in New Zealand, 'Football South' is the seventh with only two in the South Island and five in the North Island.
Karma enjoyed the tournament and learnt a lot. The team won against Auckland and Capital which was a great effort considering the boys had very little practice and had not been playing together for long.
