Whats been happening in sport over the last month ...

Mountain Biking

Connor Leov competed at the Bike NZ MTB Nationals on the weekend of 24th-26th February held at Cardrona . Connor was awarded special recognition as a result of being the only athlete to compete in both the XC and Downhill categories.  Well Done Connor.

We have two Year 7 & 8 Girls' teams competing in the South Canterbury Competition on Monday Nights. The Year 8 Girls have had two wins and the Year 7 Girls have had two tough games.

On February 16th February we had our 1st XI playing Against Roncalli. Roncalli Scored 125 for 8 and GHS scored 75 for 8. Well done to our team who put up a great fight. TJ Lensley was awarded 'Man of the Match'.

Our Year 7 & 8 Cricket team has also been at the Primary Tournament.  They had a great first game against Waimataitai which they won by 25 runs but lost to Bluestone in the semi finals by 90 runs. Bluestone  went on to win the Tournament.  The boys finished 4th which was a great effort.

We have a number of Junior and Senior Volleyball Teams playing on Friday night. Most teams are looking at making the semi finals in a few weeks.

On the 25th February Jake Drake travelled to Invercargill to attend the Speedway Southland Championships. Jake raced incredibly well and came home with NZ 3rd. Anyone may follow Jake and his siblings on facebook if they look up TEAM Drake.

We have had a busy couple of weeks with school events and more Aoraki events coming up this Month.
