Our Generation United: For the children of Syria

Right now there are hundreds of thousands of children with no homes, no schools and shattered dreams. This years 40 hour famine is called ‘our generation united’ and is about uniting friends, families, classmates, and schools etc to show that we are all standing side by side with the people just like us living in Syria. This year we are fundraising money to help build World Vision's child friendly spaces in Jordan. These will give children safe, supportive learning environments that give them lots of opportunities, as well as counselling, so they can start to recover from the trauma of war and be able to live their life as kids again.

This is our chance as a school to make a difference. To help children just like us to get the best opportunities possible out of life. If you would like to donate please go to https://www.worldvision.org.nz/fundraising/team/geraldine-high-school/40-hour-famine or drop your donation into the School Office and remember every cent counts!

What’s your 40 Hour Famine challenge?

"This is more than just any annual weekend activity. By making a small sacrifice over 40 hours, you are seriously changing the lives of vulnerable kids in the places that need it most. At the end of the day, it’s not about what you do, but about the fact that you’re doing something for the good of our global whanau!" - Pio, World Vision Youth Ambassador
