SCPSSA Year 7 & 8 Rugby

On Tuesday 8th August GHS took 21 year 7 & 8 boys to compete in the South Canterbury Primary Schools Rugby Tournament. The boys won 3 out of 4 games and were placed 2nd overall. Well done boys and a huge thank you to Mr Wilcox who coaches the boys.

We took 3 girls teams to the Aoraki Badminton Championships on Thursday 10th August. The girls had a great time and learnt a lot. One of our teams made the top 8.  Alesha Martin was awarded the Sportsmanship Award.  Well done to all the girls.

Winter Sports

As winter sport is coming to an end, a big well done to all teams for the season - you should all be very  proud of your efforts.

Geraldine High Red Netball (Year 8) won the top grade for Year 7 & 8 in South Canterbury and were also awarded the Fairplay/Sportsmanship and Scoring the most goals, awards. Well done girls.

Geraldine White (Year 8) came second after a hard fought final losing by the narrowest margin.

Our Under 14 1/2 Boys team won their final against St Kevins 43 - 24. These boys haven't finished their season yet as they head to Greymouth in two weeks for the Rural Livestock Junior Rugby Tournament during Tournament Week. Well done on your season boys and good luck for the tournament.

Senior A Girls Basketball placed 3rd after losing their semi final on Friday.

There are still more finals this weekend starting with the Senior A Boys Basketball Team at 5.30pm on Friday at the Aorangi Stadium followed by the Junior A and Senior B Netball Teams on Saturday afternoon.
