Public speaking is a skill that many try to master while quite a few people actively avoid having to speak in front of strangers. Imagine not only having to give one speech but four speeches, straight after each other. Then imagine giving these speeches in another language.
On Tuesday 21st November three of our International Students participated in the New Zealand Speech Examinations. They worked hard on preparing their speecches and used cue cards and pictures to help illustrate the points that they wanted to convey. Astrid was entered in the senior grade and received a distinction (the top grade) and Maria and Rinka who were both entered in the bridging section received a merit for their speeches. Everyone presented a varied and interesting range of material.
