Lincoln Dairy Farm Open Day

On Friday the 24th of November we all piled into the mini van ready for a day of fun at the Lincoln University Demonstration farm. When we arrived, we all sat down and had something to eat and then we all listened to a brief outline of what was on for the rest of the day. We then all moved on to our first module for the day, of which there were 10.

Some of our favourite modules of the day included the McCarthy Contracting station where we learned all about the contracting business and got to see some of their big tractors, balers and silage choppers.

The Fonterra Milk Tanker Station was another favourite, where we got shown one of their milk tankers and then they explained about all the tests that they run on the milk to ensure that we only get the best milk in the bottles. Overall it was a great day for everyone that participated.

Many thanks to Ms Pile and Mrs Foley-Smith for taking us.
