A Great day out with great students.
On Thursday 8th March Mr Wilcox took a team of eight students to compete in the Canterbury Schools Triathlon. What a fantastic effort and awesome day.
Marcus and Robert Furrer competed in the individual U16 Triathlon - sixteen boys in total. Marcus placed 7th with a time of 38:21 and Robert placed 10th with a time of 39:06. This involved a 350m ocean swim, a 9.5km bike ride and a 3km run. Their transitions were a huge improvement.
The Girls U14 team of Molly Kate Morrison (swim), Katie Moginie (bike) and Amelia McKeown (run) placed 3rd with a time of 41:39. Nine teams were in their race. It was a very close finish with Rangi coming 4th with a time of 41:44. An amazing effort and all three girls were buzzing.
Boys U16 team of Conor Foley-Smith (swim), Lochlan Price (bike) and Khan Ashton (run) placed 3rd with a time of 34:33. Five teams were entered in their race. Another huge effort from all three against very good teams from STAC and Cashmere High School.
On Friday 16th March we had 12 students enter in the SCPSSA Triathlon. It was great day in Timaru - the teams were outstanding!
The Girls Teams placed 1st and 3rd. Top 10 were: Kristin Schoneveld 2nd, Emily Coleman 3rd, Emma Becroft 5th and Lydia Hanrahan 6th. Charlotte Harding and Maelle Rossignol were placed in the low 20’s.

The Geraldine Swimming Club took a team of 12 swimmers to Invercargill during the weekend 10th - 11th March, to compete in the South Island Town & Country Meet.
Quite a few of the swimmers were Geraldine High School students, so I thought I would let you know the results.
