This year we will feature regular articles written by members of our Student Exec

This week they talk about the annual Swimming Sports.

Over the course of swimming sports, a number of longstanding records were broken across the age groups and it's obvious we have a talented group of competitive swimmers in our community. The main highlight on the finals day was the staff vs student relay which is always a competitive event and had most of the school watching. The students took out the win with the relay being super close.

Lucy Harrison and Tom Harding, Sports Captains

The house captains were proud of every participant who competed over the two days, with them saying:

I think we can all agree MacDonald has started the year off with a bang! With an awesome turn out for swimming sports, I think we have all made our house proud! Everyone was super supportive and cheered each other on and every single person put 110% into their individual events and relays. Hannah and I are super stoked with how enthusiastic everyone was and we are looking forward to the rest of the year!!

Jacob Price, MacDonald House Captain

Acland did absolutely outstandingly in swimming sports this year. The atmosphere surrounding the finish line was wicked, especially compared to previous years. Everyone seemed very enthusiastic and would cheer each other on, particularly during the relays towards the end. Jazmin and I are super proud of everyone who participated and are hoping it will be just as great next year!!!

Milly Autridge, Acland House Captain

What a great way to start the year swimming sports was for Tripp! A massive congratulations to everyone who got involved from our house, no matter how many races each person competed in. It was also great to see so many people come and support their fellow housemates with lots of house spirit both in and out of the pool. We gained some great results in both the house relays and in individual events. Well done to everyone who is involved in Tripp and we look forward to seeing even more house spirit throughout the year!!

Lydia Wilson, Tripp House Captain

Cox has always struggled with getting good results in swimming sports but the loud support and encouragement amongst the students never fails to inspire. We pulled through with some amazing races, big smiles and lots of cheering. Everyone who participated did their very best and got super involved in the relays and fun events during the break. Everyone should be so proud of themselves for what they have achieved and for giving it a go. This encouragement and support amongst our house can only continue and grow throughout the rest of the year. GO COX!
