On Saturday the 9th of March, a group of us were involved in the Timaru Relay For Life. This was an amazing blast of a day and night and all of us enjoyed it very much! This day was full of many positive, happy and memorable vibes. It was an absolute privilege to be involved in this cause as it is all about celebrating and congratulating those who are on a cancer journey or who have fought one, and remembering loved ones who we have lost to cancer.
Our team was named Chelle's Belles. We decided to call it this in support of our beautiful well known friend Chelley Leov who has fought bravely against cancer for the last year.
Chelle's Belles also put in a huge amount of time and effort into making and selling scrunchies, lip scrubs, juices, raffle tickets and even bacon butties. In the end we made around $2,800 to give to the cancer society.
A massive thank you to the parents who helped us too! Just remember “We are all in this together”.
