Uniform - keeping warm this winter

Below you will find a reminder about our uniform regulations at GHS. Please take these into consideration as you purchase warmer clothes coming into the winter season.

Hats, scarves and polyprops or thermal tops are a great way of adding an extra layer of warmth. GHS now have regulation hats, beanies and caps (caps can be purchased from the school office and bucket hats and beanies from Peter Young Apparel). Alternatively a plain black or black and red beanie may be worn. Scarves are black or black and red. Please ensure thermals or polyprops are plain black, under the black top, and plain white for under a white top (no writing).

Jackets are another essential item at this time. These must be plain black and logos or emblems no bigger than 10 cm by 6 cm. Team and subject specific jackets are not to be worn as part of the general school uniform. These should be only be worn for the events they are designed for.

Wearing our uniform with pride is important to us at GHS. Student’s hair colour should be natural and boys are to be clean shaven. Make-up is not to be worn and the only acceptable jewellery is a single pair of stud style earrings and a watch. If a student wishes to wear a blessed taonga or birth bracelet we require a letter from the parent(s) or caregiver(s), verifying that the taonga that is being worn is in fact a blessed taonga or that the birth bracelet carries meaning.

Further details can be found in the 2019 GHS Student Diary.
