Enrolment to study in Years 7-13 is welcome from all youth in the Geraldine area.
As instructed by the Ministry of Education, to avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, the Board of Trustees at Geraldine High School has adopted an enrolment scheme that has been approved by the Secretary for Education.
Under this scheme, students will be enrolled if they live within the home zone. This covers the home zones of Geraldine Primary School, Carew Peel Forest School and Woodbury School. Also included is a portion of the Hinds Primary School area south of the Hinds River for Years 9 - 15 and a portion of the Winchester Rural School area.
The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education Act 1989.
The enrolment scheme, which includes a precise description of the home zone, may be viewed at the school office where copies of the scheme are also available and on the school website.
Applications for enrolment for 2020 close at 5.00pm on 13 September 2019. These can be submitted online through this website by clicking 'Application for Enrolment' on the right hand side of the homepage or via the GHS Office.
Transport is available to those living out of town, through the schools’ bus service.
Overseas students are also invited to apply, and homestay accommodation is available. Contact the Director of International Students, Mrs Kerri Doy at [email protected].
