Every year since 1975, thousands of young kiwis have taken part in a 40-hour challenge to raise money and bring hope to millions of children living in poverty in more than 30 countries.
Geraldine High School has been participating in the 40-hour famine for 38 years and have raised a total of $69,435. In 2019, Cyclone Idai (one of the worst tropical cyclones on record to affect Africa) caused widespread flooding in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. We are raising money for the children in Malawi this year and are hoping that everyone can get involved and can reach our school goal of $1500 for people affected in Malawi.
