The mission was heading to Murchison kayaking and rafting on the mighty Buller River, three days of honing skills and running rapids. There was some fantastic progress of skills and great fun was had by all. The expedition part of the week was rafting and kayaking down the Grey River. Very low water on the first day made it a real challenge for the rafters especially the oar raft loaded with all of the camping gear and supplies. Ex GHS student Slee Larcombe, along with Sophie and Laukie of Peel Forest Outdoor Pursuits Centre, worked hard to get the rafts down the river.
Highlights were running rapids in a different area, hanging out by the fire at night and the sense of accomplishment at the end of the trip.
