Junior Uniform

Years 7 - 10

  • GHS crested jersey.

  • Black GHS polo shirt with grey shorts and black crew socks.

  • White blouse or shirt (may be worn out or tucked in) with black (summer)/tartan (winter) skirt or regulation black shorts/trousers.

  • PE shirt and shorts.

  • Plain unbranded black shoes with a black sole (no boots or high tops). 

  • Leather T-bar sandals, with white socks or with black tights.

 

Senior Uniform

Years 11 - 13

  • GHS crested jersey.

  • White dress shirt/blouse (long or short sleeves) tucked in.

  • Black Regulation Shorts/Trousers.

  • Black (Summer)/Tartan (Winter) Skirt.

  • GHS tie (optional with a blouse).

  • The school blazer, to be worn to and from school.

  • Plain unbranded black shoes with a black sole (no boots or high-tops).

  • Leather T-bar sandals, with white socks or black tights/knee high socks.

 

Optional Items

All year levels

  • Plain black waterproof/showerproof/puffer jacket (logos or emblems must be no bigger than 10cm by 6cm). These should be taken off in the classroom. 

  • GHS Jacket - same as above.

  • GHS hoodie - this is for use during PE and on school sports exchanges. This is not to be worn during school and does not replace the jersey.

  • Scarf - plain black, or red and black striped.

  •  Hats
    • Regulation school hats either bucket hat or cap.

    • Plain black cap or bucket hat (no writing/prints).

    • A red/black school beanies 


Personal Items

Jewellery

Jewellery items are allowed to be worn at school, so long as they do not impinge on health and safety requirements. 

Health and Safety requirements include: 

Hard Materials Technology: Rings, bracelets and loose necklaces are not to be worn in the Hard Materials workshop. 

Food Technology: Rings and bracelets are not to be worn in the Food Technology room.

Science: Bracelets and loose necklaces are not to be worn in the Science Lab.

Physical Education and Sport: Rings, bracelets, hoop earrings and loose necklaces are not to be worn in Physical Education and Sport. 

 

Hair

Facial hair must be kept tidy and presentable. In some cases, hair may need to be covered or tied up for health and safety requirements.

Health and Safety requirements include:

Hard Materials Technology: Hair must be tied back or covered in the Hard Materials workshop.

Food Technology: Hair must be tied back or covered in the Food Technology room.

Science: Long facial hair must be tied close to the face when doing practical tasks. Hair must be tied back in the Science Lab.

Tattoos

Tattoos are permitted. However, any tattoos that display inappropriate or offensive imagery or language are not permitted to be displayed at school or on school-related activities. The school reserves the right to determine what is considered inappropriate or offensive to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students and staff at Geraldine High School.

 

Makeup and Nail Polish

Students are permitted to wear makeup and nail polish, provided it is applied in a way that would be appropriate to the workplace and is not disruptive to the learning environment. The school reserves the right to ask students to remove makeup that is considered excessive or would be considered inappropriate to the workplace.

 

Fake Nails

Fake nails are not permitted at Geraldine High School. These are a health and safety risk.
