As we approach the end of the term, there’s a shared feeling that I think we can all relate to—tiredness. It’s been a demanding few weeks, with classrooms buzzing, calendars full, and a growing pile of assessments, especially for our senior students.
I want to begin by acknowledging the effort everyone has put in this term. Our students have shown real grit, our staff have gone above and beyond, and our families continue to support learning in countless ways behind the scenes. Thank you.
For our senior students, the pressure is understandably high right now. With assessments piling up, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Please remember: feeling tired or stressed doesn’t mean you’re not capable—it means you’re human. But it also means it’s time to focus on strategies that can help you manage the load.
Here are a few reminders for students (and maybe even staff and families too):
Break it down: Don’t look at the mountain; focus on the next step.
Rest is productive: A well-rested brain is far more efficient than a tired one.
Ask for help: Whether it’s a teacher, a friend, or a family member—reach out.
Stay connected: Even during busy times, don’t isolate yourself. Talk, laugh, share.
Celebrate small wins: Each task completed is a step closer to the finish line.
On Friday the 28th of March our PIA team were competing at the 'Kirwee Field Days' in the South Island Fencing championships. Cullen Bolt and Tom Batty came first with a close second from the mixed team of Issy Atkinson and Cayden Howell. Well done!
On Sunday the 30th of March the PTA put on an event in conjunction with "Crazy Kea Events" - Geraldine Adventure Race. I would like to acknowledge the PTA, staff and parent volunteers for making this a successful fundraising event for the school. Great to see some staff and students also out there on the course pushing themselves to the limit.
To our school community: thank you for another term of learning, growth, and perseverance. We’re nearly there—let’s finish well, look after each other, and take pride in all we’ve achieved.
