Chess Tournament

On Friday 17th May, three of our students attended a chess tournament in Oamaru.

Braving the freezing dark at 7am, the lads headed down to Oamaru for the GoChess Timaru/Oamaru Regionals hosted by St Kevin's Oamaru.

William, Dylan and Eli all did themselves very proud. William won first place overall for the individual competition.

The team came in 8th overall, and have set themselves up for a positive and successful year attending further competitions.

Chess Club will be running twice a week in R8, details will be in student notices.
