International Update
Kia ora from the International Director,
What an amazing few weeks we have had in the International department. Our students have visited many places of our beautiful country including the Hororata Glow Festival. It was a stunning evening which made seeing the balloons light up the sky extra special.
We had our very first International evening, opened by a very moving performance from our Kapa Haka. Our Brazilain students performed their cultural dance followed by our Thai students showcasing what is important in their culture. Including some audience participation games.
Lyn Madriaga, our International Committee Leader, spoke from the heart about why culture is important to us all. He highlighted the diversity and inclusiveness within our School community. This was Lyn's first time in the spotlight for this role, and he did a wonderful job.
I was blown away by the community presence, not only our host families but our wider community. We had so much Kai to share it really was a sight to be seen. Im not sure we can top it but I think next year we will give it a go.
Lastly we said goodbye to our students from Thailand. They were very sad to say goodbye to their new friends. I wish them all the very best.
