Young Explorers Summit

Nikau took the opportunity to apply for a Young Explorers Summit for 2024 with 25 other young people from around New Zealand, taking place from 12-14 April 2024. He secured his position for this summit over hundreds of applicants and had to not only write a letter of application but also go through a video interview.

Nikau thoroughly enjoyed his time in Christchurch getting to meet and stay with other like-minded people from all over our country. As part of the experience, Nikau got to meet a diplomacy officer who shared insights into daily life on the US base in Antarctica, learning about some of the history. The group also got the opportunity to spend a day at the Antarctic Centre. He thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity and encourages others to put their name forward for 2025.
