Attendance
Kia ora Geraldine High School whānau,
At Geraldine High School we look forward to seeing your children arrive at school every day, as they show up for learning, socialising with their peers and developing important life skills that will prepare them for life outside of school. This is why we monitor attendance trends in the school for each of our students.
We understand that when children are unwell they should stay at home; however, long term illnesses can also impede their learning and social skills. Please feel free to get in touch with us if your child has a long term illness and needs support to reintegrate as they return to school. There are many options for those students who have been unwell for long periods of time.
If your student refuses to come to school, or you are having trouble getting your child to school for any reason please let either our office staff or your child’s Dean know. By letting us know the reasons for your child’s unexplained absence we are able to put the right supports in place for you and your child and ensure they receive the best education possible through consistent attendance at school.
Noho ora mai,
Simone Tulley
