The Shakespeare Team
The Shakespeare Team
The Shakespeare team had a very long, busy but successful King's Birthday Weekend.
The students were amazing. They looked professional, were respectful and did Geraldine proud.
They became fan favourites and their socials are going to be very busy. They were the only team to get a standing ovation from the judges.
Unfortunately the team were over time. Strictly 10-15mins. Which meant they were not able to receive any of the scene awards - which they were told they would have won more if they were under time. (good learning)
However, they didn't come away empty handed. This has been the best year yet for Geraldine High School and any Aoraki team going to Nationals.
There were 49 schools at Nationals.
Quick overview:
Workshops on Friday with placement call that evening
Saturday and Sunday competing and viewing (Sunday Evening Award Ceremony)
It is a huge event with the last day on Monday at parliament to receive feedback from assessors and selectors.
This weekend we will find out if any of the team have been select for National Secondary Schools Production (NSSP). Which are the top 24 performers from Nationals and 24 from Regionals who will then attend a week long programme in Dunedin. From there 24 will be selected to go to the Globe in London.
