Term 2 Sports
Term 2 Sports
Welcome to Term Two Sport at GHS. There is plenty going on with most Winter codes underway now.
We have just had our school Cross Country and this was held on a beautiful day with students enjoying the day, especially the colour run.
If you want to know more about sports at Geraldine High School check out our Facebook page, Geraldine High School Sport where we post results, notices and photos.
Fees and Uniforms
Just a gentle reminder that fees for sporting events need to be paid and uniforms need to be returned asap.
We now have some of the uniforms on a barcode system, which is great for keeping track of them. If you notice the barcode coming off after washing, just iron it down again.
Sports Webpage
Check out our school website on the Sports Tab for info about Sports on offer at GHS.
Basketball
Friday night Basketball is well underway now. We have 10 teams in this competition. At this early stage, some of our teams are doing really well and are top of the table.
Subs of $80 are due now.
Intermediate Basketball will finish on the 26th May.
Football
Our First 11 Football team have had a couple of preseason games and they are building on the results of these.
Their latest game was against a TBHS team and they only lost 4-3.
Senior Quad will be their next lot of games coming up.
Badminton
Badminton is up and running in the Gym. Come along on a Thursday night 6-7.30pm for a hit around.
Quads
We have quad sports exchanges happening soon. GHS is hosting Junior and Senior Quad this year. Junior quad is Tuesday 27th May 2025. Middle Quad is at Mt Hutt College on Tuesday 10 June and Senior Quad is at GHS on Tuesday 24 June 2025.
Cross Country
Our GHS Cross Country was held on Tuesday 6th May. A great day. Some excellent results from Olly M who took out the Senior Boys race, Billy N who won Junior Boys and Senior Girls was won by Nicole S.
Tripp House took out the house points title.
Huge thanks to the Sports Committee and staff who ensured this event ran smoothly.
We have a number of other cross-country events coming up this term such as Aoraki's and the SI Festival so plenty of opportunities for our budding runners to get involved.
