GHS hangi fundraiser for rural communities affected by cyclone Gabrielle
Our hangi raised $5480 towards the cyclone relief. We are super appreciative of the support and mahi from our community. Special mention needs to be made of the following people and businesses:
- Quentin Cooper & Jimmy Paewhenua our fabulous cooks*
- Micheal Jones Geraldine Butchery for the massive donation of all the meat
- Ian & Sarah, John Smith: Smith’s Seed Potatoes
- Southern Packers: Onions
- Fresh Choice for their Chiller Trailer.
- Dallas Rae, Tracey Christie, Richie Macale, Joanne Morris: our fabulous parent helpers
- GHS staff for donating the bulk of the ingredients
- The awesome students for PIA and Māori whānau
And, of course, all those who purchased kai from us.
PIA was able to present FCANZ (Fencing Contractors Assoc.) with the Hangi fundraised funds while we were at the Field days. The $ will go directly towards helping farmers rebuild much needed fences. PIA are also hoping to send some students North during the holidays to help with this.
