Project Based Arts
This course empowers senior students to lead their own creative journeys through collaborative, cross-disciplinary performing arts projects. Students will develop artistic identity, communication, technical skill, and leadership through real-world performance experiences. The course encourages innovation, cultural responsiveness (including Te Ao Māori), and reflective practice.
Students could cover stage lighting, costume, make-up, theatre design, sound design, sound technology, performance and song writing, stage management and leadership.

Project Structure
Each year level undertakes 2–3 major projects, co-constructed with student input. These may include:
Devised performance
Community project
Multimedia integration (e.g. film, sound design, live streaming)
Interdisciplinary collaboration (e.g. music + drama)
Extensions & Enrichment:
Integration with Arts or Cross-Curricular Inquiry (e.g. Performing Arts + Social Studies)
Collaborations with local artists, theatres, and whānau
Digital portfolios, blogs, or documentary vlogs
Opportunities for regional festivals or competitions
