Graduate Profiles Year 10 and Year 13

Graduate Profiles Year 10 and Year 13

Graduate profiles describe skills, knowledge, and attitudes that students will need to develop in order to participate in a range of life contexts beyond school.

Last year we worked with our staff, students and community members to come up with the skills, knowledge and attitudes we feel are important for our students to have at the end of the junior school (Year 10) and at the end of the senior school. These closely align to our already reported on key capabilities.

Graduate Profile Assessment Criteria

At Geraldine High School, student performance in the 8 Key Capabilities is assessed using a 1-8 scale.

To pass the Graduate Profile criteria at Year 10, students must achieve an average score above 3 across all 8 Key Capabilities. This ensures well-rounded development across multiple skill areas.

For Year 11-13, students are assessed in the same manner but using the school's key competencies to determine if they attain the graduate profile. To pass, they must also achieve an average score of 3.0 or above.

A students' pastoral record and attendance record will be considered separately. In certain cases, the school may exercise discretion when reviewing these records to determine a student's eligibility for passing the Graduate Profile criteria. This additional review ensures that student behaviour, engagement, and overall commitment to learning are also taken into account.

We will be acknowledging students that graduate these profiles at the Year 10 Challenge celebration evening and the senior prizegiving for our Year 13 students.

We will be in contact with the students and parents if any student is at risk of not graduating well in advance and come up with a plan to get them back on track.
