Sports at GHS

I am looking forward to an exciting year of Sport at Geraldine High School. Some of our students have been involved in sporting activities over the summer break which is great to see. 

Cricket Harry Sowden was part of a year 7 South Canterbury cricket team over the summer and they competed in a tournament. They team won all their games. Harry had a batting average of 61 and taking 3 wickets. Great mahi Harry. 

Softball

We had a group of boys who were involved in softball over the summer. Zac Allen, Ethan Taylor, Anthony Baker and Cameron Jamieson represented Geraldine Falcon’s in Zingari team at the Southern Pride Softball tournament.

Zingari got 3rd out of 9 teams.

Anthony Baker was MVP of the tournament for Zingari Team.

Volleyball

Friday night league starts up again on the 17th February. We have senior and junior teams in this event.

Basketball

Under 15-17 boys and girls reps. Trials Sunday Feb 19th .

Year 7 & 8 Monday night competition starts March 6th.

Secondary School competition Friday night competition starts April 28.

Netball

Watch this space for trial dates.

Girls Rugby

U11s and U13s Comp. starts Monday 12th June.

U 15 and U 18 Comp starts Wednesday 17th May.

Athletics

Our school athletics are 28th Feb and 1st March

Country High Schools 8th March in Fairlie.

Aoraki Secondary Schools 15th March.
