Outdoor Education

Outdoor Education at Geraldine High School combines classroom study and different pursuits such as kayaking, rafting, rock climbing, skiing and tramping to help foster self and social development.

Students gain understanding of how they react with different challenges and help each other to realise their own potential.

I am continually amazed at what students can achieve and in turn carry this growth and confidence onto further study, younger  students or into their chosen place of work. The combination of comradeship between students and the opportunity to do something that will potentially never happen again in their lives.

Snow caving can be a difficult task digging for up to 5 hours and experiencing what it is like to be cold in the alpine environment. They will never forget this experience.

I have worked in the outdoor sector for 20 years and with the help out Peel Forest  Outdoor Centre staff this is one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had. Hayden Titchener
