Aoraki Tennis Champs

On Thursday 20th of February, four students headed to Ashburton for the yearly Aoraki Tennis Champs. It was a great day for Tennis weather-wise, a very warm 26 degrees with lots of sun and no wind or clouds. Joining us at the tournament were Ashburton College, Opihi College, Craighead Diocesan School, Roncalli College, Timaru Girls, Waimate College, and Waitaki Boys and Girls High Schools. 

We decided to play in the festival grade, playing in doubles teams and just for fun instead of playing singles competitively. We played three doubles games, with the first games being played at 9:00 am and the last games between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, with lots of time in between for water and food breaks and sunscreen reapplications. We had a mixture of wins and losses between the teams, but we persevered and had lots of fun, regardless of the end scores. All in all, it was a great day.
