Senior Prize Giving 2024

Senior Prize Giving 2024

Thursday the 24th of October saw Geraldine High School celebrate our Senior Prize Giving, with many of our senior students being recognised for a wide range of achievements at the highest level and showcasing the academic, sporting, and cultural achievements of our students.

It was also pleasing to be able to celebrate the entrance scholarships that some of our Year 13 students have received from the universities that they will be attending next year. This is a clear endorsement of the diligent way that they have approached their studies. As a school, we are very proud of all of these students and what they have achieved in the 2024 school year.

The hard work and commitment of the 2024 Student Executive was also recognised and the 2025 Student Leadership team was announced. As stated in the Prize Giving the bar has been set high for them from such an amazing team this year and we are looking forward to all they can achieve in 2025 in support of our school.

I would like to reiterate, on behalf of our school community, a massive thank you to the local organisations and families that have supported us for many years, sponsoring and donating prizes and scholarships, for their generous and ongoing support of our hard-working students as they take the next steps in their education.

A massive thank you to Aaron McCullough, who was our speaker for the evening. Aaron spoke about his experiences as a teenager, moving through to university and the world of work. A key message to our students and their whanau being that it is important to work hard to achieve your goals and set goals you are passionate about achieving.

Thank you also to Gislinde Folkerts and Lynda Leary for the flowers and Year 13 gift. The Geraldine High School office and administration staff undertook a huge amount of work to make the event happen.

We would also like to recognise all our amazing performers; Carlos Johnson, Ella Waldron, Philline Alagahit, Fiona Thubthom, our Kapa Group led by Jordyn Te Rahui-Hobbs, and all our student leaders who spoke so well on the day.
