A message from your Art Leaders 2025 Kohl and Tom
In 2025 we are looking forward to all the exciting events coming up that students can become involved in.
Our new ‘ All the Worlds a Stage’ showcase where we plan on showing the musical and acting talents of our students is happening in Week 8 of Term 1.
Wearable Arts is on in Week 9 of Term 2, with the theme of “Islands in the Stream” where students will show us their creations inspired by the theme.
Vibes will be in Term 3 again to show our students performing in multiple talents. This is an event that is looked forward to by staff and students.
As arts leaders, we plan on increasing the opportunities for the arts around the school with activities to try and possibly strive to take on the role of the Art Leader in the future. We have already seen student interest in the Drama Club and the Glee Club starting up at Geraldine High School.
Drama club will get students ranging from years 7-13 to play some of the drama games and get more connected with students of all ages. Glee Club on the other hand is where students will learn what it's like to be in a choir group and learn to sing with others. With these clubs, we hope to build confidence in the arts space and hopefully get more students involved in what Geraldine High has to offer.
We advertised these clubs for the first time during O-Week. We set up a stand on the field and talked to students about what these clubs would be like. We also advertised our Arts Committee during this event. The Arts Committee is a small group of students who range from year 7-13 that help us as your Art Leaders with our events like Wearable Arts and Vibes and suggest new ideas they may have.
As you can see it will be a very exciting 2025 with the Visual and Performing Arts area.
Do get in touch with us, your Arts Leaders, if you have any questions or want to know more.
