GHS Foundation
The Geraldine High School Foundation is a proud sponsor of the recent purchase of the two school vans. The vans have been extremely well received and utilised already, enabling students to attend an array of extracurricular activities.
The Geraldine High School Foundation was originally set up as the Geraldine High School Trust in 1998 and has the aim of “furthering the education of students attending the school “
The Foundation has and can contribute money for equipment, facilities, staffing, training, seminars and other resources that are not funded by the Ministry of Education.
This is achieved by growing the Foundation’s funds which over the years have grown to more than $800,000. Funds are carefully invested in a balanced portfolio to maximise long-term growth of the capital and to provide income for projects. The Foundation has also received generous donations over the years from past pupils of Geraldine High School, local businesses and community groups.
The Foundation is operated independently from the School. It is currently managed by seven Trustees - Mark Mulligan, Will Polson, Liz Nattrass, Damon O’Brien, Guy Slater, Martin Stockley-Smith and Elizabeth Harper.
Currently the Foundation is setting up a database of past pupils to foster social connections with the school and friends, develop an Alumni and facilitate fund-raising. This is a long-term approach which will involve contacting members of various year groups and other friends of the school.
To register on the database please email your full name along with the year and class/year group that you started at the Geraldine High School to:
