A warm welcome back to all our students. Term 2 promises to be full on with Winter Sports kicking into full noise, The Grease production will be a cultural highlight but it is also important to take care about the most important aspect of school and that is learning.
On this note we are introducing a homework club to school. This is a time a week where you can stay after school and complete any assessments, get some help from the teachers that are in the space or support from other students. We will provide some light refreshments to fuel the mahi and also in some circumstances transport home afterwards if you are a bus student.
Thursday was our first afternoon where a small group of students attended. They were helped by a number of our staff members who made themselves available across different subjects. Please encourage your students to be a part of this and getting into regular study habits.
On Wednesday night I had the privilege of watching the Senior A Netball team have their first competition game of the season. I was so impressed with the progress they have made from a pre-season tournament to this point. The students had a great win over a strong Harlequins team and demonstrated great skill and physical ability. What I was most proud of was the way the students conducted themselves. They were positive and encouraging of each other through the whole game, with the senior players (and coach) setting a great culture in the team. Good luck for the rest of the season!
It is great to be back at school in this amazing autumnal weather and I am looking forward to another great term.
