Sport Updates

We are now settled into Term 1 and things are busy in the Sports calendar.

Our school athletics was awesome with some fine performances from our students and everyone enjoyed seeing GHS Alumni Kieran Fowler, supporting our students.

We have also had Aoraki Touch, PALs, Senior Volleyball, Intermediate Basketball happening and more athletics with Country High Schools and Aorakis coming up.

If you want to know more about sports at Geraldine High School, check out our Facebook page, Geraldine High School Sport, where we post results, notices and photos.

Fees, Uniforms and Permission Forms

Just a gentle reminder that fees for sporting events need to be paid and uniforms need to be returned asap.

We have moved to a new system for Permission forms this year, so this is a reminder to fill these in early so we do not have to chase students up.

Sports Webpage

Check out our school website on the Sports Tab for info about Sports offered at GHS.

Athletics

Aoraki Athletics is Wednesday 12th  March at the all-weather Track in Timaru.

Big shout out to Ethan H. and Billy N. who are competing in Dunedin at the National Athletics meet.

Basketball

Intermediate Basketball has started, and we have 6 teams in the competition this year. Teams are just settling in at this stag,e but we have some great talent coming through. Watch this space!!

Senior Basketball trials will be later this term.

PALs   Physical Activity Leaders Day

We had eight Year 8 Students attend the PALs day in Timaru recently. This is a day of activities to help our students become leaders of Physical activity in their schools. The students had a great day, and we look forward to seeing them put into action some of their training. Big thanks to Mark MacKenzie, who took the students.
