Pink Shirt Day at GHS

Pink Shirt Day at GHS

On Monday 15th May during PSE (Personal and Social Education) we started to celebrate Pink Shirt Day (which was held on Friday 19th May with a Free Dress day and other activities organised by our wonderful Year 13 students). We combined classes and worked together with different age levels. Pink Shirt Day is about working together to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusiveness.

It’s about creating a community where all people feel safe, valued and respected, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion or cultural background.

The PSE teachers planned some awesome activities for the students to do such as decorating cup cakes and biscuits with lovely kind quotes and sayings, by making wall charts showing inclusivity and by making videos and posters on how to be an upstander.
