University Study

Year 13 students planning to go to university next year or Otago Polytechnic and need accommodation are busy with submitting CCRF information to be able to apply for a place at a Hall of Residence. This is due by the end of this term. Scholarships open on 1st July and close around mid-August. Students have already received links to various websites and the information is also on the school's CareerWise website. Enrolment to university courses opens on 1st August and students will receive further reminders in term 3. There will be a presentation on applying for a student loan - Study Link, in term 3.

NZ Defence Force Visit

Wednesday 21st June saw the NZ Defence Force visit Geraldine High School. They started with a team work exercise with the level 1 Work Ready Class and then presented to interested seniors on the different career pathways in the Air Force, Navy and Army. It was interesting to note that students who gain Level 2 in English, Math and Science have 75 trade options available to choose from as opposed to only 45 options for those with Level 1 NCEA.
